JONESBORO, Ga. -- Clayton State defeated Augusta State 5-2 Saturday in the Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championships at Clayton County Tennis Center.

ASU claimed two of the three doubles matches, with the teams of Nathalia Rodrigues/Fernanda Chiaparini and Bianca Machado/Marina Ferreria each capturing wins.

In singles play, the Lady Lakers won four of the six matches to claim the win while two matches failed to finish.

With the loss, ASU dropped to 13-8 on the season while the 11tth-ranked Lakers improved to 10-5.

The ASU women's and men's tennis teams will now begin preparations for the NCAA Southeast Regional, slated for May 7- 9.
