– The 29th ranked Augusta State women's tennis team won two
of three doubles matches and three of six singles to defeat No. 35
Lander, 5-4, Saturday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference match at
The Joe Cabri Courts.
Augusta State improved to 8-5 overall and 3-3 in the PBC, while
Lander fell to 9-4, 3-3.
In singles, No. 1 Victoria Lindqvist (A) def. Aurelia Ruffat (L),
6-0, 6-3; No. 2 Brandi Cordell (L) def. Marina Ferreria (A), 7-6,
6-2; No. 3 Bianca Machado (A) def. Caitlin Fell (L), 7-6, 6-1; No.
4 Camila Correa (A) def. Eliza Adusumilli (L), 6-3, 6-4; No. 5
Nicola James (L) def. Keaton Sanders (A), 6-4, 6-2; and No. 6
Melanise Newbold (L) def. Luiza Pires (A), 6-3, 7-5.
