AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Armstrong Atlantic State won the first three singles matches Sunday afternoon to capture the Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship with a 5-1 victory over Augusta State at Newman Tennis Center.
With the victory, the No. 2 Pirates won their seventh consecutive PBC Tournament title and improved to 23-0 overall. The Jaguars, who were making their first-ever PBC tourney finals appearance, dropped to 16-7 on the season.
The Jags' lone victory in the match came at No. 3 doubles, where junior Jenner Stevenson and freshman Maxime Coulumb posted an 8-6 win over Armstrong's Eudaldo Bonet and Daniel Regan.
ASU will now begin preparations for the NCAA Regionals, which are scheduled for Sunday-Tuesday, May 1-3.
