No. 7 Lander Knocks Out No. 14 Jags

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 14 Augusta State men fell 5-1 to No. 7 Lander in the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regionals on the campus of Columbus State Saturday morning.

The loss puts ASU at 12-12 on the season, while the moved bumped Lander to 16-3.

In the No. 2 singles competition of the Southeast Region Bracket No. 2, Lander's No. 26 Vincent Verpeaux triumphed over Jan Labas 6-2, 6-1, before ASU's Romain Brunie won the only match for the Jaguars, defeating Oscar Axelsson 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 4 singles meeting.

Lander's No. 1 doubles duo of Adam Jonsson and August Iwdal, nationally ranked No. 13, beat ASU nationally-ranked duo, Victor Cabellos and Victor Guimaraes 9-8 and 7-2.
