Big First Half Leads Jags To 92-70 Win Over Braves

PEMBROKE, N.C. – A 58-34 halftime advantage at UNC Pembroke gave the Jaguars enough cushion for a 92-70 final on Saturday afternoon in the English E. Jones Center.

Ryan Weems willed the Jags (15-3, 8-1 PBC) with 18 points – making four three pointers, while senior KJ Sherrill notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The younger Sherrill brother, freshman Keshun, put up 16 points in his start for the Jags. GRU Augusta shot 56.1 percent to UNCP's 35.8. The Jags shot 50 percent for the sixth time this season and hit 90 points for the fourth time.

Quamain Rose posted a team-best 17 points for the Braves while Reggie Cobia and Ben Jacobs each added 11. GRU made 18-of-21 free throws (75 percent) and the Braves shot 69.6 from the line – hitting 16-of-23. Each team recorded 37 rebounds.

The Jags host Armstrong on Thursday, Jan. 30 for a 7:30 p.m. PBC game in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
