ORLANDO, Fla. – Senior Casey Kennedy finished second overall at the UCF Challenge with a 5-under 211 after she shot an even par 72 in the third and final round Tuesday morning to help GRU Augusta to a fifth-place finish at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.

The Jaguars signed for a 5-over 869 after three rounds on the 7, 212-yard course. Freshman Eunice Yi had the second-best finish for GRU, signing for a 1-over 217 (74/72/17) to tie for 22nd. Freshman Jessica Haigwood posted a 2-over 218 (74/72/72), freshman Josefine Nyqvist signed for a 7-over 223 (74/74/75), and senior Christine Duschek-Hansen rounded out the Jags with a 28-over 244 (76/82/86).

Kennedy carded a 68 in the first round and a 71 in the second to keep her in the hunt of the top prize for the Jaguars. UCF's Fanny Cnops owned her home course to hold on to the lead after all three days of play – finishing with a 8-under 208 (67/70/71) to take the individual title. Sian Evans of East Tennessee State carded a 4-under 212 (73/67/72) for third, Iowa State's Prima Thammaraks posted a 3-under 213 (75/69/69), and UCF's Ashley Holder concluded the top five with a  3-under 213 (70/68/75).

UCF never relinquished the lead on their home course as they won the tournament with a 7-under 857. Iowa State notched second with a 6-under 858, Miami placed third shooting an even-par 864, Kentucky carded a 2-over 866, and GRU claimed fifth with their 5-over 869.

The Jaguars play at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Rio Mar Country Club River Course on Feb. 16-18 in Rio Grande, P.R., hosted by Purdue.
