SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 43 GRU Augusta Women's Tennis team and No. 23 Men's team dropped two Peach Belt Conference dual matches at Bacon Park on Monday afternoon to the Armstrong Pirates, ranked No. 2 in the nation for women's and No. 5 for men's tennis.

The Jaguar women slid to 10-7 overall and 4-5 in the Peach Belt after the Pirates took a 9-0 shut-out victory on their home court. Armstrong improved to 16-1 and remained perfect in the PBC at 9-0.

The Jaguars fell to 13-5 and 3-3 in the league with the loss and Armstrong jumped to 10-5 and 6-0 in the league. Victor Cabellos won the first set in No. 1 singles, but the Pirates' No. 10 Pedro Scocuglia won the next two to take the match. Armstrong took the next five matches in two sets and swept doubles play for the 9-0 victory.

Both Jaguar squads host North Georgia this Wednesday, April 2nd for a 2:00 p.m. dual match at Newman Tennis Center.
