AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Jaguar Tennis programs continued their stint of league matches with the No. 23 Jaguar Men outlasting No. 35 North Georgia 5-3, while the No. 43 GRU Augusta Women triumphed 6-2 on Wednesday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference dual match at Newman Tennis Center.

The No. 43 Jaguar Women (11-7, 5-5 PBC) lost the first set in number one and two singles, but Aida Castany and Roberta Oliveira prevailed in the next two sets to gain a lead on the North Georgia Nighthawks after GRU Augusta took two of three in doubles play to start the day.

GRU's Gisela Font and UNG's Mathilda Baartvedt did not finish number four singles, leaving it up to the final three meetings. The Jags' Maria Cecilia Pimentel and Maria Nadal downed the final two UNG players to take the league match with a 6-2 final.

On the men's side, the Jaguars (14-5, 4-3 PBC) outlasted the Nighthawks 5-3, using an early double win from the No. 6 doubles duo in the nation, Victor Cabellos and Victor Guimaraes. The Victors won in number one singles, with the Romains (Romain Ferreria, Romain Brunie) defeated Giovani Santon and Sam Gantt 8-4 in the second doubles meeting.

The men matched wins in singles competition for the Jaguars to hold on for the 5-3 advantage. GRU travels to Flagler for a 1:30 p.m. Peach Belt Conference dual match with the Saints.
