No. 43 GRU Augusta Slips To No. 24 Flagler, 5-3

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 43 Jaguar Women's Tennis team trailed early and never overcame the deficit on Thursday afternoon to fall 5-3 to the No. 24 Flagler Saints at Bacon Park in a Peach Belt Conference dual match.

GRU Augusta dropped to 11-8 and 5-6 in the league with the 5-3 loss, while the Flagler Saints improved to 12-2 and 8-1 in the Peach Belt. Roberta Oliveria and Julie Fontaine took the No. 2 doubles win for GRU over Barbora Sebkova and Thaisa Pereira, but the Saints grabbed the two other doubles meetings for the quick lead.

Sebkova downed Aida Castany in No. 1 singles and the Jaguars never climbed back, despite Oliveira and Maria Nadal getting wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles.

The Jaguars play a PBC dual match at Francis Marion this Saturday, April 5 for an 11:00 a.m. match with the Patriots in Florence, S.C.
