ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA. – It was a battle of nationally ranked Peach Belt Conference schools on Monday and the No. 21 Jaguars survived at No. 26 Flagler to win a close 5-4 league match in St. Augustine, Fla.

GRU Augusta is 6-1 on the year and 1-1 in the PBC with the win over Flagler. The Jags are on a four-match win streak and have back-to-back league matches home matches against Armstrong (Feb. 25) and Georgia Southwestern (Feb. 27).

The Saints won two of three doubles matches and took the opening singles matches as well, sparked by No. 12 Jose Martinez besting GRU's No. 20 Romain Ferreira 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles spot. Romain Brunie had to win a third set in the No. 3 singles slot. Brunie triumphed 6-2 and Moritz Gehlhaus Joao Gabriel Freitas, and Arthur Andrade all won in two sets to take the day from the Saints on their home court.

The Jags are 3-0 at home in Newman Tennis Center and improved to 3-1 on the road with the win at Flagler.
