ATLANTA, Ga. – The Augusta Jaguars women's tennis team improved to 9-1 on the season with a 9-0 non-conference victory over the Clark Atlanta Panthers on Monday afternoon in Atlanta, Ga.

Augusta is 9-1 overall and 3-1 in the Peach Belt Conference in the 2016 season.

Brooke Durden won a three-set battle in the No. 1 singles position, responding from a 7-6 loss to in 10-5. The Jaguars won the next four singles matches all in two sets before taking the No. 6 by win on a forfeit.

Maria Cecilia Pimentel and Durden won 8-1 in No. 1 doubles and Monica Gonzalez and Amelia Pinoargote 8-2 in the second doubles match. Augusta's Maria Nadal and Gisela Font swept doubles play with another win by forfeit with Clark Atlanta only having five athletes at the event.

Augusta hosts Georgia College on Friday, March 4 for a Peach Belt Conference match at 12:00 p.m. in Newman Tennis Center.
