AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Jaguars couldn't slow down No. 8 nationally ranked Columbus State on Saturday afternoon and fell 8-1 in Peach Belt Conference action in the Mary V. Blackmon Tennis Center.
Ranked No. 49 in the nation and ninth in the NCAA Southeast Region, the Jaguar women slid to 12-8 overall 4-6 in the Peach Belt with the loss on the road. Columbus State sits second in the region and eighth in the region and jumped to 16-5, and 10-1 in the PBC.
Senior doubles duo Maria Nadal and Gisela Font won 9-7 over Olivera Tadijin and Rachael Williams in No. 3 doubles for the lone Augusta win on the day.
Augusta plays at Georgia Southwestern in Americus, Ga., Sunday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. for the second to last match of the regular season.
