AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis squad hosted Young Harris College on Friday afternoon and fell 8-1 in a Peach Belt Conference match at Newman Tennis Center.

The match moved the Jaguars to 6-5 overall and 1-3 in the league, while YHC is now 5-2 on the year and 2-1 in the PBC.

Battling high winds all day, Augusta couldn't find a win in singles play, but got its lone victory in the doubles competitions. AU sophomore Merye Gobernate and freshman Ana Faria teamed together for No. 2 doubles and dominated for an 8-1 victory.

AU plays a PBC match at USC Aiken on Wednesday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m. in Aiken, S.C.
