AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's tennis team lost a 5-2 Peach Belt Conference match to the No. 3 nationally-ranked Columbus State Cougars on Saturday afternoon at Newman Tennis Center.
The match moved No. 39 Augusta to 8-8 overall and 2-6 in the PBC, while the Cougars moved to 14-1 overall and 4-0 in the league. CSU also leads the NCAA Southeast Region rankings.
Augusta senior Joao Ferreira won the second singles match in three sets, while freshman Lucas Bolle booked a 6-3, 6-1 win at number five singles. The Cougars swept doubles play to win.
AU hosts Georgia Southwestern on Sunday, March 31 for another 12:00 p.m. PBC match at Newman Tennis Center. The Jaguars will celebrate 2019 Senior Day prior to the match.
