AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's tennis squad won a 5-2 non-conference match over the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters on Sunday at Newman Tennis Center.
The match moved AU to 3-4, while the LMU Railsplitters are now 1-8.
AU sophomore Ricard Rubio won 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 1 slot, before sophomore Gaspard Mathieu won a perfect 6-0, 6-0 match at the No. 2 slot.. The Railsplitters took the next two singles matches, before Jags freshman Herick Isago and sophomore Alvaro Querida delivered wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Augusta won two doubles matches to get a 5-2 victory. AU is set to host the Emmanuel College Lions on Friday March 6th at 2:00pm in a Peach Belt Conference match at Newman Tennis Center.
