AUGUSTA, GA-The Augusta University Women's Tennis team lost a close match-up 3-4 to Emmanuel College at Newman Tennis Center on Friday. The matched moved Augusta to 6-3 overall. Emmanuel dropped to 2-7.
Similar to the men's tennis team, Augusta swept the doubles play for the day. All matches were hard fought in doubles play. Seniors Merye Gobernate and Alejandra Arranz defeated Emmaunel's Victoria Silva and Elisa Wang 7-6. Edith Rueda Croda and Carolta Costa Manero won 7-5. Edith Rueda Croda and Carolta Costa Manero were the only Jaguars to win their singles matches at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots.
The Jaguars are at home again on Sunday March 8th against Anderson University at 11:15am. All matches will be played at the Newman Tennis Center.
