AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University Men's tennis team defeated non-conference opponent Barton 5-2 on Sunday. The two teams met at a neutral location in Florence, S.C. for the make-up game (which was originally postponed due to weather).
Barton moves to 4-2 while Augusta improves to 4-2 overall.
Ricard Rubio and Mattia Mauriziano won their No. 1 doubles match 6-4. They were followed by a win by Lucas Bolle and Martin Hurtado at the #2 doubles spot.
Ricard Rubio defeated Diego Agudelo 6-2, 2-1 while Lucas Bolle prevailed in his singles match 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. Herick Isago battled to win 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 at the #4 spot. Martin Hurtado also secured a 6-3, 6-2 win for the Jags.
AU men's Tennis hosts travels to the University of North Georgia on Tuesday March 9th for a 1:00pm Peach Belt Conference matchup
