AUGUSTA, Ga – The Augusta University volleyball program added
Deja Moorer as the new assistant coach, as announced by Head Coach
Sharon Quarles. Moorer joins the Jaguars from the University of West Alabama, where she was a graduate assistant from 2019-2021.

Sharon Quarles.
"Deja just finished up a graduate assistant position at West Alabama I am excited that Deja has decided to take her next steps towards having a coaching career and it's at Augusta. It is awesome that she is looking at pursuing this career path and I get a chance to help her in her journey. Just love to see her energy and enthusiasm for the game and a desire to help players."
Moorer began her collegiate coaching journey as a graduate assistant at the University of West Alabama from 2019-2021. Prior to her elevation into the coaching ranks, she was the head volleyball coach of John Carroll Catholic High School for the 2018-2019 season. Moorer also has extensive experience in the club ranks, serving as a master coach in training from 2017-2021 for Alabama Performance Volleyball Club in Birmingham, Alabama.
Moorer is a 2017 graduate and played for Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She was a 2013 NCCAA Mid-East All-Region Tournament Team member and named TSWA Player of the Week in both 2014 and 2016. Moorer also maintained a placed on GSC Honor Roll in 2015. While at Union University, she marked her name in the history books as #1 in career kills, top ten in career blocks, and top ten in career aces.
Moorer earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Union University in 2017. She completed her master's degree in Experimental Psychology from University of West Alabama in 2021.
