Augusta, Ga- The Augusta University men's basketball team looked every bit the #12 team in the nation during their 112-58 defeat of the visiting Young Harris Mountain Lions. The Jaguars had six players in double figures in the 54 point victory. Augusta guard
Miguel Arnold surpassed 1,000 career points during the Saturday afternoon game. Augusta improves to 12-1 (2-1 PBC) white Young Harris falls to 3-10 (0-4).

The Jaguars were dominant in every facet of the game. Augusta darted out to a quick 34-13 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. In the first half, the Jags were 12-of-19 from downtown. AU was dominant in the paint, scoring 20 pts to Young Harris' 6. The home team sported a 61-26 halftime lead over Young Harris.
#12 Augusta's offensive efficiency continued to be on display in the second half of the game. T open the second half,
Miguel Arnold hit a 3-pointer, followed by a dunk by
Tyshaun Crawford, and yet another sunk 3-pinter by
Tyree Myers.
After being fouled and hitting both of his free throws with 12:45 left to play, Coach Metress called a timeout to recognize
Miguel Arnold for scoring his 1,000
th point as a Jaguar. Â
The home team led by as many as 59 points in the definitive defeat.
Miguel Arnold led scoring with 24 points, going 8-of-13 from the field, 6-of-11 from beyond the arc, and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. The Puerto Rico native added 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the game.
Troy Cracknell added to the offensive clinic by AU, going 7-of-12 from the field, 4-of-6 from the 3-point line, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line for 21 points.
Ja'Queze Kirby was also nearly perfect, shooting 6-of-8 from the field and 2-of-3 from the 3-point line for 14 points.
David Viti added 13 points while
Tyshaun Crawford added 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Timmy Sellers had a breakout game, leading the team with a season-highs in both points and rebounds. The sophomore forward carded 10 points and 9 rebounds.
The Jaguars travel to Lander this Wednesday January 12
