CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Cassie Lagan led Augusta women's cross country to a 13^th place finish in a loaded field on Friday evening on the 5-kilometer McAlpine Freedom Park Course.

"I was really pleased with how well both teams moved up in the second half of the race", said head coach Jacob Burgamy. We still have some things to work on in terms of being a little more aggressive, but I think this was a huge step forward from how we raced at Virginia Tech for both teams."

The 27-team field was split with Division I and Division II teams.  Lagan finished with a time of 18:39.4 to lead Augusta in 27^th place. Riley Triplett finished her event in 19:01.3 to take 52^nd. Caroline Pierce finished 107^th (19:38.6) and Haley Gilbert finished 129^th (20:00.3). Brayden Bailey finished 134^th (20:04.0), Grace Gyetko 146^th (20:14.9), Madison Kennedy 150^th (20:20.9), and Priya Giddens 167^th (20:40.3).
Julia Masino (20:46.1) and Cheyenne Ryan (20:52.1) rounded out the Augusta squad.
