YOUNG HARRIS, Ga - The Augusta University women's volleyball team swept Young Harris on the road on Friday evening. With the win, the Jaguars improve to 14-5, 6-2 in the conference play. The win also puts Augusta in first place in the Peach Belt.
Augusta took control of the match early, jumping out to an easily 10-2 lead in the first set before claiming the set 25-14. Sets 2 and 3 were much of the same, with AU winning 25-12 and 25-18. Augusta hit a season-high .424 hitting percentage in the match, carding only eight errors in the contest.Â
Jazmyn Wheeler led offensively, blasting home 16 kills to go along with 4 digs.Â
Defensively, Kiera Barr led with 10 digs. Madelyn Eden chipped in 3 blocks to add to the effort.Â
The Jaguars proved dangerous from the service line, recording 8 aces to Young Harris' 1.
Augusta has a short turnaround, traveling to Lander on Tuesday for a match that was postponed by Hurricane Ian. The match is set for 6:00pm. Live stats and video will be available at augustajags.com
