AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University volleyball team is ranked second in the most recent NCAA Southeast Region Rankings that were released on Wednesday afternoon by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
The Jaguars (22-6) join three other Peach Belt Conference schools on the 10-team list. Wingate is first, Augusta second, Carson-Newman third, Anderson fourth, Lander fifth, Flagler sixth, Lenoir Rhyne seventh, Emmanuel eighth, USC Aiken ninth, and UNC Pembroke tenth.
Augusta will play its final two regular-season matches at home against Young Harris on Saturday Nov. 5. Two wins on Saturdays also guarantees Augusta as the host for the PBC Tournament Nov. 10-12. The women's volleyball program is the defending tournament champion and looks to capture its fifth consecutive tournament title.
The Jaguars will also celebrate 2022 Senior Day on Saturday Nov. 5 during the PBC double-header in Christenberry Fieldhouse. Augusta will recognize and celebrate the careers of seniors Kiera Barr, Alyssa Dutton, Alexis Diaz-Infante, and
Samantha Zittrauer prior to the start of the second match of the afternoon.
The NCAA Tournament field will be announced Sunday, Nov. 13 at 10 p.m. on NCAA.com. The regionals will take place Nov. 17-20. This year's national quarterfinals through the championship match will take place in Seattle, Wash. as part of the NCAA Fall Festival.
