AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University Baseball team swept UVA Wise at Jaguar Field for their first two games of the Saturday-Sunday series.
 
GAME 1

Augusta scored the first of its eight runs in the second inning off of home run by Lukas Coker. A single by Jordan Wilkie – and a run by Wilkie 0 would also score in the inning. AU would put runs 4 and 5 on the board in the third inning, with both Pat Galvin and Ben Markiewicz reaching home plate. In the fourth inning, after Pat Galvin grounded out to second base and allowed Harrison Aulds to score, Ben Markiewicz hit a two run homer to push the lead to 8-1. The Cavaliers would score two runs in the final innings but fell 8-3 to the hot bats of Augusta.

Pat Galvin, Ben Markiewicz, Kyle LaRoche, and Jordan Wilkie all carded 2 hits in the game. Ben Markiewicz was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs.
Mason Bernard (1-1_ pitched a complete game, allowing 5 hits and striking out 7 batters
 
GAME 2

UVA Wise opened scoring with a 2 run homer in the 1^st inning. Walker Sinclair's sacrifice fly scored Mason Robertson and put the Jags on the board. Singles Skylor Murphy and Harrison Aulds gave AU a 4-2 lead in the 3^rd inning. After Pat Galvin scored on an error in the 4^th inning, Skylor Murphy hit a 2 run homer to extend the lead to 7-2.UVA Wise answered with 2 runs in the 5^th, but a 2 RBI double from Sinclair closed the game 9-4.
 
Seven different Jaguars each tallied a single hit in the contest.
Dominque Canale pitched a complete game, allowing 3 hits and striking out 10 batters.
