AUGUSTA, GA - The Augusta University baseball team hosted the North Georgia Nighthawks on Saturday afternoon after splitting two games on Friday. The Jaguars secured the series with a 9-7 win. Augusta returns to action on Wednesday April 20
th when they host Francis Marion for a single non-conference game.

North Georgia jumped out to an early lead after scoring two runs off homers in the first inning. The Nighthawks tacked on five more runs in the second inning.
Augusta scored a single run in the 2
nd inning before turning the tide with a huge 4
th inning. The Jaguars tacked on five runs in the inning starting with a 3-run home run from
Kyle LaRoche.
Ben Markiewicz singled to left field, scoring
Harrison Aulds before Augusta pushed the score to 7-6 off a bases loaded walk.
Both teams remained scoreless until
Lukas Coker hit a three-run bomb in the eighth inning to take a 9-7 lead and eventual victory over North Georgia.
Augusta racked up 13 hits in the game.
Lukas Coker,
Jordan Wilkie,
Skylor Murphy, and
Mason Robertson all managed multiple hit.
Eli McMullen started the game for AU, striking out 2 batters and allowing four hits.
Britt Kelly (1-0) took the win for Augusta while Jasper Kelly registered the save.
