AUGUSTA, GA – The Augusta University traveled to Lander University this weekend for a three-game series. After falling by a single inning on Friday night, the Jaguars dropped both game of the doubleheader to the Bearcats at Dolny Stadium. Lander improves to 18-16, 8-7 in Peach Belt Play. Augusta falls to 10-21, 3-12 in conference play.

GAME 2
In the second game of the series, a five-run inning for the home team proved too much to overcome and AU fell 4-7.
A single by
Skylor Murphy to right center field scored
Harrison Aulds in the 5
th inning. Lander answered with five runs of its own in the bottom of the inning.
A homer and a double by
Ben Markiewicz shrunk the lead to 5-3. The Jaguars scored again off an error by the second baseman. Lander would add a run in the 7
th and a run in the 8
th to seal the game.
Offensively, the Jags were led by
Ben Markiewicz, who went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs.
Dominique Canale (1-5) started on the mound for AU.

Nyle Grove , Cody Scheider all pitched in relief.
GAME 3
Augusta started scoring with a 2 RBI Homer by pat Galvin in the third inning. A double by
Lukas Coker followed and pushed
Walker Sinclair over home plate for a 3-0 lead. Lander would card a single scores off home runs in the third and sixth innings. An error by Augusta's shortstop allowed the tying run and a walk off RBI single gave Lander the 4-3 win.
Six different Augusta players carded a hit in the contest.
Chase Horton (3-5) pitched a complete game for the Jaguars. Horton struck out six batters and allowed hit hits for four runs in his 6.2 innings of work.
