AUGUSTA, GA – The Augusta University baseball team cruised to an easy victory over USC Aiken 12-1 in 7 innings of play on Friday. The Jaguars posted four runs in the blowout victory. Augusta moves to 11-21 overall, 4-12 in PBC play. USC Aiken falls to 15-9, 7-9 in the league.
 
AU got on the board in the first inning when 
Pat Galvin doubled scoring one run.  A two-run homer by 
Ben Markiewicz and another home run by 
Walker Sinclair put the home team up 4-0. A double by 
Harrison Aulds pushed 
Skylor Murphy over home plate and extended the lead to 5-0.
Augusta would tack on two more in the 6
th inning before posting five runs in the seventh inning.  The Jaguars closed the game in seven innings  with home runs by 
Skylor Murphy and 
Harrison Aulds.
 
Chase Horton earned the win for AU. Horton lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out four and walking one.  
Eli McMullen threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Haney took the loss for USC Aiken. The pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out four.
 
Augusta tallied four home runs on the day. Murphy and Aulds both posted one in the seventh inning. 
Walker Sinclair had a four bagger in the first inning. 
Ben Markiewicz added his own home run in the first inning.
 
The Jags carded 11 hits in the game.  Galvin, Aulds, Sinclair, and Murphy, all managed multiple hits
 
Augusta is slated to take on USC Aiken tomorrow at noon for a double-header completion of the series. Live video at
