COLUMBUS, GA – The Peach Belt Conference has released the bracket for the 2022 PBC men's tennis tournament, which begins this Friday in Columbus, Ga. The tournament will be held a the John W. Walden Tennis Center in Columbus, Ga., and hosted by Columbus State University. Ranked No. 22 in the nation, the Augusta University men's tennis team has drawn the No. 5 seed. All six teams are ranked by the ITA

The top six teams in the PBC standings advance to tournament play with the 1 and 2 seeds getting byes into the semifinal round. On Friday, play will begin with the 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5 matches both starting at 2:00 pm. The 3-6 winner will meet the #2 seed on Saturday at noon with the 4-5 winner facing the top seed, also at noon on Saturday. The championship match will be on Sunday at 10:00 am.
Flagler won their first-ever PBC regular-season championship on Tuesday, defeating Lander 4-1 in a match that had been postponed due to weather. The Saints finished with a perfect 6-0 league record, beating Columbus State in the process to end the Cougars' 36-match conference winning streak. Ranked #13 in the current ITA national poll, the Saints also capture the #1 seed for the PBC Tournament.
Columbus State sees their run of four straight PBC titles come to an end, but remain the #1 team in the nation and are the #2 seed for the PBC Tournament. CSU will host the event for the first time and have played in the NCAA national championship match for the last three years in a row, winning in 2018.
North Georgia is the #3 seed in the tournament with Lander at #4, Augusta #5 and Georgia College #6. All six teams are nationally ranked by the ITA.
Augusta finished the regular season with an 11-7 record.
With the seedings set, the men's tennis tournament schedule is as follows:
Friday, April 29 – 6:00 pm
#3 North Georgia vs. #6 Georgia College
#4 Lander vs. #5 Augusta
Saturday, April 30 – 4:00 pm
3-6 winner vs. #2 Columbus State
4-5 winner vs. #1 Flagler
Sunday, May 1 – 2:00 pm
