ST. AUGUSTINE, FL. – The Augusta University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to host Flagler in their second meeting in as many days. Augusta moved to 9-4, 1-1 PBC while Flagler improves to 6-6, 1-3 PBC.
The first set was a back-and-forth battle, with the home team capitalizing on a service error to capture the first set. Augusta held the advantage for much of the second set before an offensive spurt forced an Augusta timeout at 21-19. AU would call another at 23-23 before two kills put the home team up two sets to none. Augusta had a .303 hitting percentage in Set 3 and won 25-18 in the stanza. Errors plagued the Jaguars in the final set and Flagler would win the final set 25-21.
Jazmyn Wheeler and
Madelyn Eden were the offensive bright spots, tallying 13 and 11 kills respectively.
Dariana Luna led with 20 digs.
Kiera Barr, returning from injury, turned in 12.
Jada Suguturaga led the blocking effort with 6 during the afternoon.
