GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Augusta University women's golf team is in 13th place after the first round of the Lady Paladin Invitational, having shot a 16-over 304 in Friday's first round. The par-72, 6,356 yards Furman University Golf Course proved exceptionally tough during the opening round as none of the 18 teams finished under par.
The Jags have two top-30 scorers after the first round led by Naphabach Boon-In who is tied for eighth after a one-under 71
Daniela Burgos had a solid day finishing tied for 27th after shooting a three-over 75.
Petra Duran finished tied for 50
th at 5-over,
Kennedy Carroll finished tied for 87
th at 9-over and
Chiara Sola finished the day 91
st.
Old Dominion, holds the first-round lead after finishing with an even-par 288. North Florida is next, just one stroke behind at one-over 289. Host Furman is third after completing their round with a five-over 293. Tulane and UNCW are tied for fourth with a first-round total of six-over 294.
Georgia State is in sixth after firing a seven-over 295. Memphis is one stroke back in seventh at eight-over 296, and FGCU is sitting eighth at nine-over 297. Coastal Carolina is two strokes in front of Minnesota who shot a 14-over 302.
James Madison and FAU are tied for 11th after both finished the day's action at 15-over 303. Augusta (+16, 304), Western Kentucky (+17, 305), and Stetson (+19, 307) round out the top-15.
The rest of the field includes South Florida (+20, 308), Daytona State College (+22, 310), and Richmond (+23, 311).
The second round is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET tomorrow.
