BEECH ISLAND, S.C. – The Augusta University women's cross country team hosted the 2022 Jaguar Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning at Redcliffe Plantation. Augusta had a strong showing, with
Riley Triplett taking home the individual title.
Ranked eighth in the NCAA Southeast Region and voted third in the Peach Belt Conference preseason poll, Augusta had six of the ten of the top runners in the meet.
Riley Triplett won the 5k event with a time of 19:50.82.
Cassie Lagan took second with a time of 20:06.20.
Caroline Pierce,
Madison Kennedy,
Haley Gilbert, and
Grace Gyetko took 4
th-7
th respectively.
Brayden Bailey,
Julia Masino,
Priya Giddens, and
Cheyenne Ryan all finished within the top-25.
AU heads to the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational Sept. 16 in Blacksburg, Virginia.
