Aiken, SC. – The No. 9 Jaguars were defeated 81-76 by rival USC Aiken at the Convocation Center. Augusta is now 16-3 overall and 7-2 in the Peach Belt. USC Aiken improves to 14-5 overall and 7-2 in conference play.

Ja'Queze Kirby swished a three on the first possession of the game before blocking a shot on the other end less than a minute later. The home team worked themselves into a 27-19 lead off a 6-0 run with eight minutes left in the first half. A dunk by
Tyshaun Crawford cut the USC Aiken lead to 31-28 with a little under three minutes left in the period.
Miguel Arnold would bury a three pointer to give AU a narrow 38-37 lead over the Pacers at halftime.
The second half saw the home team extend a 13-point lead. A trip to the free throw line from Arnold sparked a 6-0 run, but steady offense from USC Aiken kept the lead out of reach from AU.
Tyree Myers was fouled hitting a three ppoint basket with 1:09 left to play. After making the free throw, Augusta was only down 75-73. A three pointer by Tyler Dixon on the next possession helped seal the 81-73 victory for USC Aiken.
Tyshaun Crawford led the Jaguars with 22 points and 2 blocks.
Miguel Arnold was just behind him, carding 21 points. Daren Lucas-White had 10 points.
Tyree Myers had 9 points.
Ja'Queze Kirby matches his scoring effort with 9 points of his own, leading the AU rebounding effort with 6 rebounds.
USC Aiken was led by Tehree Horn's 16 points and Jameel Rideout's 13 points.
