MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – No. 10 Augusta defeated Georgia College 87-64 in the first game of 2023. In the victory over,
Miguel Arnold broke the Peach Belt Conference record for career made three-pointers. A record previously held by Ronald Zimmerman of USC Aiken with 344 career three pointers, Arnold now has 345 and takes over as the new Peach Belt Conference record holder.
Augusta improves 12-1 (3-0 PBC). Georgia College falls to 4-9 (0-3 PBC).

Georgia College struck first, opening the game with a dunk from Brendan Rigsbee and a made shot from beyond the arc.
Miguel Arnold had an immediate answer, dishing the ball to
Tyshaun Crawford for a layup before hitting a three-pointer of his own. Another jumper by Arnold at the 14:00 minute mark sparked a 10-0 run capped by a three from
Tyree Myers. Three consecutive made buckets by Daren Lucas-White extended the lead to 16 with 8:00 minutes left in the first half. The Jags would maintain a comfortable cushion headed to the locker room at the break.
Augusta was able to hold Georgia College to a 26.5 field goal percentage while shooting over 50 percent in the first half. Lucas-White provided the offensive spark in the first half, going 5-for-7 from the field and scoring 11 points. AU continued its dominant performance in the second half. A three-point basket and two free throws by Demitri Garnder extended the Jaguar lead to 20. Augusta would lead by as many as 26 points and took home an 87-64 road victory.
In his record-breaking game,
Miguel Arnold posed 16 points, going 2-for-5 from the three-point line. The senior added 3 rebounds and 3 steals.
Tyshaun Crawford has 20 points, shooting 8-for-11 from the field adding 2 blocks to his performance.
Ja'Queze Kirby tallied 13 points.
Darren Lucas-White and
Demitri Gardner had 11 points and 10 points respectively
