YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – In a marquee matchup with huge season implications, No. 10 Augusta men's basketball handed No. 18 Young Harris its first loss 87-66. The Jaguars are now 13-1, 4-0 PBC while Young Harris is now 12-1, 3-1 PBC.
In the victory, senior
Tyree Myers broke the Peach Belt Conference record for career assists. A record previously held by Troran Brown of University of Montevallo with 574 career assists, Myers now has 581 and becomes the new Peach Belt Conference record holder.

Young Harris set the tempo for the first 10 minutes of play. A shot from beyond the arc by Lenny Pradia put the home team up 10-7 just under 4 minutes into the game. After seeing that lead extended to five, PBC record holder
Miguel Arnold hit a signature three-pointer to cut the lead to 2. A dunk from
Tyshaun Crawford and a made jumper from
Demitri Gardner gave Augusta its first lead of the game. Up 20-19, the Jaguars would continue to apply offensive pressure. A last second shot from
Tyree Myers pushed the No. 10 team to a 42-35 halftime lead.
AU opened the second half with a dunk from Crawford. After allowing a floater from Josh Petteno, the Jags would score the next five. Augusta would continue to apply pressure with a three-pointer from
David Viti extending the lead to 13 with 9:10 left to play. Arnold proved vital down the stretch, scoring 12 of his 21 points in the second half.
Miguel Arnold led scoring with 21 points, knocking down five three pointers in the game.
Tyshaun Crawford had 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks while
Ja'Queze Kirby had 14 points.
Darren Lucas-White headed the defensive effort with 4 steals and
Tyree Myers led with eight assists in his record-breaking game.
