AUGUSTA, Ga – The Augusta University women's volleyball team took down the visiting Georgia College Bobcats 3-0 to complete the PBC series sweep for the season.
Augusta improves to 21-4, 7-1 PBC while Georgia College falls to 14-13, 1-8 inside conference play. The Jaguars are set to host rival USC Aiken on Friday at 6:00 pm it's the inaugural Coats and Scrubs Game inside Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The AU outside hitters registered a strong offensive night.
Jazmyn Wheeler continued her hot streak, scoring 15 kills to go with 14 digs, a block, and a service ace. After returning from an ankle injury, sophomore
Kayli Cleaver looks to have returned to form, blasting home 14 kills on 38 swings.
Junior middle blocker
Savannah Davis had a breakout performance. The Arizona native had 9 kills (a .333 hitting percentage) and a match-high four blocks.
Sophia Kruzcko and
Madelyn Eden each had five kills in the contest.
Dariana Luna commanded the Augusta backcourt, registering 24 digs in the three-set match. Ally These had 12 digs. Janvier
Buggs dished an impressive 45 assists. The senior also had eight digs. As a squad, the Jaguars had an outstanding defensive performance to round out the match having 66 digs and 10 total blocks.
