AUGUSTA, GA - Augusta University men's basketball senior
Tyshaun Crawford has been named to the Top 50 Watch List for the 2023 Bevo Francis Award, announced today by the Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee.
The 2023 Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List is comprised of the top players from across NCAA Division II and III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA.
Crawford has guided the Jaguars to a 20-5 overall record with his 22 points per game, a mark that places him first in the Peach Belt Conference and 14
th among Division II scorers. Crawford also tops the conference in field goals and field goal percentage (68 %). He is currently second of all conference players in minutes per game at 32.6, second only to teammate
Miguel Arnold. Crawford is first in the conference in blocks (2.2 BPG) and second in rebounds (8.6 rebounds per game). He leads the conference in offensive rebounding (3.7 per game).
The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations revolve around season statistics, individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements.
This is an incredibly prestigious award, as this award will only be given to one player within Small College Basketball per season.
This marks the seventh year in which the Bevo Francis Award will be awarded. The list will be narrowed down to 25 players March 15. Finalists for the award will be unveiled April 1 with the winner being crowned on April 3.
