MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga– The Augusta University baseball team fell 4-1 to Georgia College in the first game off the PBC doubleheader before dropping game 2. Augusta is now 11-12, 6-8 PBC play while the Bobcats are 10-12, 8-3 in Peach Belt play.
AU saw the game slip away early and couldn't recover in the game 1 4-1 loss to Georgia College on Saturday. The Jaguars capitalized on an error by the second baseman for a score in the first inning.
Georgia College scored on an error and on a single in the bottom of the first inning. The home team would add 2 more insurance runs in the third and fourth innings.
Mason Bernard started on the mound for Augusta. He surrendered four runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out seven.
Britt Kelly tossed the final three innings.

Mike Morrison,
Jordan Wilkie,
Jared Martin, and
Kyle Lodise each managed a single hit.
Augusta was unable to temper the hot bats of Georgia College in the second game of the day. The Bobcats notched 16 hits in the contest and held Augusta scoreless.
Brian Trepanier got the start for Augusta.
Turner Sircy came in to pitch in relief, going to three innings and striking out four batters. Cody Sheider,
Aedan Cates,
Dominic Canale, and
Brandon Byler all saw time on the mound.
