AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University baseball team defeated the visiting College of Saint Rose Golden Knights 9-7 Tuesday afternoon. Augusta improves to 5-10 with the victory while Saint Rose moves to 3-6.

Augusta built a seven-run lead in the seventh inning and then held off Saint Rose's charge for a 9-7 victory on Tuesday. Saint Rose scored five runs in the eighth inning, but Augusta University Jaguars still managed to pull out the victory.
AU got things moving in the first inning when
Harrison Aulds singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Pat Galvin singled for a score before
Gavin Wright singled for 2 scores.
With the Jags up 5-0, a homer from the Golden Knights added two scores for the visiting team. Augusta would immediately answer with a 2RBI double from Charlie Erickson in the bottom of the inning.
AU would tack on two more runs before a Saint Rose scored five runs in an eighth inning comeback attempt.

Turner Sircy started the game for the home team lasting 3.2 innings and allowing five hits and two runs while striking out two

Brian Trepanier earned the victory on the mound for AU. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking zero.
Jasper Dubberly,
Aedan Cates, and
Dominic Canale all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Dubberly recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Jaguars
Pat Galvin,
Gavin Wright, and Aulds all had multiple hits for Augusta.

Augusta hosts Saint Rose tomorrow (March 8) for the second and final game of series. First pitch is at 2pm.
