Jaguars Wrap USC Aiken Series with 6-3 Victory

AIKEN, S.C.  – The Augusta University baseball team won 6-3 in its series finale against USC Aiken Friday afternoon at Roberto Hernandez Stadium. With the win, Augusta is 18-18, 11-13 in conference play while USC Aiken remains at the top of Peach Belt Conference standings (25-12, 17-4 PBC).

Augusta used a four-run third inning to create a commanding lead. Harrison Aulds started off the offense hitting a sacs fly to left center field that pushed Kyle Lodise in for a score. On the next at bat, Mike Morrison's single scored Pat Galvin. Another single from Parker Ingram to left field pushed the score to 3-0 before the Jags added a fourth score off a passed ball. 
 
A bases loaded walk in the fifth gave AU a 5-0 advantage. 

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out, three straight walks loaded the bases for the Pacers, but Augusta took the 6-3 victory.

For the game, Parker Ingram was 3-for-4 with a run and 2 RBI. Jordan Wilkie also collected 3 hits and 2 runs. 

On the mound, Britt Kelly (2-5) got the start and the win and pitched 6.2 innings giving up two runs on four hits with three strikeouts. In relief, Aedan Cates, JR Fordham, and Turner Sircy all saw time on the mound.
