Jaguar Women’s Cross Country Opens the Season with Strong Performance in Spartanburg

Spartanburg, S.C . –The Augusta University Women's Cross Country team opened the 2023 season at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C on Friday night.

FULL RESULTS

Augusta finished eighth overall in a team loaded with Division I teams.

Madison Kennedy paced the Jaguars, finishing her 5000m in 19:11.3. Maria Biondollilo turned in a time of 19:26.2 in her first appearance in a Jaguar jersey.

Grace Gyetko finished her race in 19:43.7. Caroline Pierce was the final AU runner to finish under 20 minutes at 19:59.4.

Riley Triplett rounded out the top five runners with a time of 20:09.6.

The Jaguars hope to follow up their dominant outing with another as they head to the Southern Showcase in Jacksonville, Alabama on Friday, Sept. 15.
