MADISON, Wis. – The Augusta University women's golf team finished 13
th in its opening tournament of the 2023-24 season. Sophomore
Victoria Zheng led Augusta throughout the Badger Invitational, finishing 3-over to tie for 14
th.
Hosted by the University of Wisconsin at the University Ridge Golf Course, Augusta got off to a strong start – the team was tied for fourth entering the second round. AU would have to battle cold, rainy, and windy conditions for the remainder of the tournament.
Victoria Zheng shot twin 74s in her final two rounds, finishing the final day with a 3-over, 219.
Senior
Napabhach Boon-In improved two stokes on her Day 1 score on Monday and Tuesday, shooting 74s in the second and final round to finish 34
th.
Kennedy Carroll and Keira Gonzalez-McCarthy each tied for 53
rd for the tournament. Both logged a 4-over 76 on the final day.
Ariana Carvalho finished tied for 80
th.
The Jags finished with a 37-over, 901, for the tournament.
Augusta has an extremely short turnaround. The team travels to compete in the Lady Paladin Invitational on Friday, Sept 22-Sunday, Sept 24 in Greenville, South Carolina.
