MILLEDGEVILLE, GA- The Augusta men's basketball team defeated Georgia College, 77-61, to improve to 10-9 overall and 3-6 in conference play on Wednesday night. Augusta will host Columbus State on Saturday, Feb. 3. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m. Â

It was a slow start for both teams in the first half as Georgia College held a 19-13 lead over Augusta with seven minutes to go in the half. AU went on a 15-6 run to finish the half with a 28-25 lead.Â
It was a tight second half until Ja'Queze Kirby knocked down three-pointers on back-to-back possessions and gave the Jaguars a 63-56 lead, from there on they finished out their first conference road win of the season. Â
Kirby led the Jaguars with 22 points and shot 3-5 from 3PT range. Demitri Gardner followed with 19 of his own, all coming in the second half. Â
Max Amadasun dominated the boards with eight rebounds and John St. Germain III led in assists with fiveÂ
Brendan Rigsbee led Georgia College with 16 points, no other player scored more than 10 for the Bobcats.  Â
