SUMTER, SC – The Augusta University women's tennis team made a strong showing at the 2024 ITA Regionals, held in Sumter, South Carolina. Competing as individuals in both singles and doubles, the Jaguars battled through multiple rounds against regional competitors.
In the singles main draw, several Augusta players put in commendable performances. Luciana Bejarano advanced to the second round after a bye but was eliminated by Leah McBride (Carson-Newman University) 6-1, 6-2. Andrea Gonzalez secured a first-round victory, defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-4, before falling later in the tournament. Camila Taborga fought hard but lost in the first round 6-2, 6-1. Priscilla Landi also faced a tough challenge, bowing out in the first round 6-2, 6-4.
In the consolation singles draw, both Bejarano and Gonzalez managed to bounce back, with Gonzalez securing two consecutive wins.
In doubles, Augusta's pairings faced tough competition. Luciana Bejarano and her partner advanced to the second round, while Andrea Gonzalez and Priscilla Landi both fought hard but were ultimately eliminated.
