AUGUSTA, GA– The Augusta University volleyball team (18-6, 4-4 PBC) closed out the regular season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Georgia College (8-20) on Friday. The Jaguars took the match with set scores of 25-11, 25-13, and 25-14.
Augusta controlled the match from start to finish, hitting .183 as a team and holding Georgia College to a -.102 hitting percentage.
Marin Freeland led the offense with 11 kills on a .250 hitting percentage, while Madelyn Eden added 9 kills and a team-high 8 blocks, contributing 13 points. Jacklyn Simms added 6 kills on .250 hitting, and Mikayla Kline contributed 5 kills, 3 service aces, and 4 block assists.
Setter Marah Zenner directed the attack with 19 assists and added 6 digs, while Janvier Buggs tallied 15 assists and 7 digs. Defensively, Rylie Harris led all players with 23 digs, and Suguturaga bolstered the net defense with 6 block assists.
Next Match: Augusta will host Georgia College again on Tuesday, November 19, in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the George A. Christenberry Fieldhouse.
