MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – The Augusta University volleyball team (17-5, 4-3 PBC) earned a dominant 3-0 win over Georgia College (8-18, 0-7 PBC) at the Centennial Center Saturday afternoon. The Jaguars swept the match with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, and 25-16, continuing their positive momentum in Peach Belt Conference play.
Augusta came out strong in the first set, battling through early exchanges before pulling away with a late surge to close the set 25-19.
In the second set, Augusta maintained their intensity, with Jada Suguturaga contributing 6 kills and 2 block assists. The Jaguars kept Georgia College on their heels, winning the set 25-17. Rylie Harris anchored the defense with 10 digs, limiting Georgia College's offensive opportunities.
The third set showcased Augusta's most efficient play, with the team posting a .333 hitting percentage. Jacklyn Simms and Witherspoon added critical kills, and Madelyn Eden recorded five blocks, helping secure the final set 25-16.
Setter Janvier Buggs facilitated the offense, finishing with 27 assists and a .571 hitting percentage.
With this victory, Augusta improved to 17-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
