AUGUSTA, GA- The Augusta men's basketball team defeated Georgia Southwestern, 80-70, to improve their record to 15-9 overall and 8-6 in conference play on Saturday evening. Augusta will head to Lander on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Jaguars got off to a hot start taking a 17-4 lead through the first eight minutes of the game. After that, Southwestern got back in the game holding the Jaguars to just 11 more points the rest of the half. Despite the GSW run, Augusta still led 28-21 at the break.
The second half was all Augusta, extending their lead all the way to 73-47 behind three-pointers from Demitri Gardner and David Viti.
Augusta was paced once again by Gardner who has 19 points on 6-for-7 shooting from the field. Max Amadasun followed him with 17 pointsand led the team in rebounds with seven.
Ja'Queze Kirby (15) and Timmy Sellers (12) also scored in double figures in the Jaguars' sixth straight win.
