AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University softball team (7-6) lost both games of Saturday's doubleheader, losing the first game 6-5 and game two 3-2.
 
Game One
 
Bailee Roberts scored the first run of the game with RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. Lauren Evens hit a two RBI double to extend the lead to 3-0 in the first inning. Lauren Barrett hit a RBI single to finish off the first inning with a 4-0 lead.
 
Belmont Abbey tied the game 4-4 with two RBI homers by Sydney Pon and Addison Yoder in the second inning.
 
Lauren Barrett hit a RBI sacrifice fly to give the Jaguars a 5-4 lead. 
 
Trinity Wall helped the Crusaders to the 6-5 win with a 2-RBI homer in the top of the seventh inning. 
 
Alissa Bolinger got the start on the mound for the Jaguars, going 1.2 innings allowing four runs and striking out three. Madalyn Spinks pitched four innings, striking out five and giving up zero runs. Hannah Turner got the loss in relief, pitching 1.1 innings and giving up two runs.
 
Game Two

Bailey Presley started game two with a solo homer, giving Belmont Abbey a 1-0 lead in the first inning. 
 
Bobbi Poff scored after a fielder's choice from Bailee Roberts to tie the game 1-1. Hayden Pearson hit a RBI single, giving the Jaguars a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning. 
 
Mackenzie Allison singled, scoring two and putting the Crusaders ahead 3-2 in top of the sixth inning. 
 
Ansley Gibson started on the mound for Augusta in the loss, pitching 5.2 innings with three strikeouts and giving up three runs. Maggie McBrayer and Madalyn Spinks pitched in relief.
 
The Jaguars next games will be on the road at Erskine College (2-10) in a doubleheader on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Game one will be at 1 p.m., followed by game two at 3 p.m.
