DAHLONEGA, GA- The Augusta men's basketball team lost to North Georgia, 73-66. Their record falls to 15-11 overall and 8-8 in conference play on Saturday afternoon. Augusta will host Georgia College on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Jaguars and Nighthawks both got off to slow starts as they struggled to get anything to fall. Neither team led by more than three points for the entire first period.  UNG was able to take a 33-31 lead into the half. 

David Viti had nine for the Jaguars to keep the game close.   

 North Georgia extended their lead to 10 on a 7-0 run early in the second half and AU struggled to catch back up. 

The story of this one was free throws, North Georgia shot 34 while the Jaguars only shot 10. On top of that, four of Augusta's five starters were in foul trouble for most of the second half. 

Ja'Queze Kirby and Maximillian Amadasun led the Jaguars with 16 points each.  

Amadasun also grabbed 14 rebounds in the losing affair, one of his highest totals this season. s.
