AUGUSTA, GA- The Augusta men's basketball team defeated Georgia College, 89-70 on Wednesday night. Their record improves to 16-11 overall and 9-8 in conference play with the win. Augusta will host USC Beaufort on Saturday, March 2, for Senior Day. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m. Â

Augusta started the game out slowly only scoring six points through five minutes, but forgot about it quickly, rocketing to a 27-10 lead seven minutes later.  The Jaguars added on 17 more, leading Georgia College at the half, 44-22. Georgia College went on a run to cut the lead to 12, but it didn't matter as the Jaguars roared to a 19-point victory off the back of Ja'Queze Kirby. Â
Kirby led the Jaguars with 18 points, followed by Demitri Gardner with 15. Â
Max Amadasun notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Â
