AUGUSTA, Ga – The Augusta University baseball pitching group combined to throw a no-hitter in Saturday's 17-2 PBC win over the visiting Claflin Panthers. Augusta improves to 16-11, 6-3 PBC. The victory bumps Augusta up to second in the Peach Belt Conference standings. Augusta will host Newberry on Tuesday, March 19 at Jaguar Field before traveling to take on USC Beaufort March 22-23.
Augusta scored first in the bottom of the second inning after
Dylan Wanat singled to right field scoring one run,
Kyle Lodise hit a sac fly scoring one run, and
Harrison Aulds hit a three RBI homer.
A double by
Jake Vachon, another single by Wanat, and a bases-loaded walk in the third inning added four more runs. Six more Augusta runs crossed the plate in the fourth and fifth innings. Lodise homered,
Kyle LaRoche doubled for a score, and Vachon singled for two scores in the fifth for a 15-2 Jaguar lead.
Rushton Bowles homered in the sixth inning for the final two AU runs of the game.
The Jags collected 11 hits. Lodise, Wanat, and Vachon each had two hits. Aulds drove in four runs on one hit to lead AU. Lodise also registered two stolen bases.

Gavin Zoeller started the game for Augusta. Zoeller allowed one run in 4.0 innings while striking out three.
Colby Garey-Wright,
Brayden Howigren, and
Samuel Davis all pitched in relief.
