AUGUSTA, Ga – The Augusta University baseball team dropped a 15-8 decision to Newberry in non-conference action. AU is now 16-12 for the season. The Jaguars will travel to USC Beaufort March 22-24 for a three-game PBC series.
Dylan Wanat had two home runs and drove in three runs on the loss. A solo shot to right field put Augusta on the board in the first inning. The Jags went on to score six runs in the second inning.

Koby Ayala reached on a fielder's choice that plated Ingram. In his next at-bat, Wanat homered again. Reigning PBC/Southeast Region Player of the Week
Kyle Lodise continued his home run streak with a bomb over the center field fence.
In the fourth inning,
Brady Loughren punched in AU's eighth run off a single down the left field line.
Newberry turned the tide in the fifth inning, carding six runs. The Wolves went on to add two runs in the sixth, three in the seventh, and four in the eighth for a 15-8 victory.
Garret Wright started on the mound, allowing two hits and zero runs over three innings while striking out two and walking two.
Lodise, Loughren, Wanat, Ingram, and Vachon all registered multiple hits. Wanat was 2-for-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. Lodise went 3-for-5 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.
